The first day in Montreal was miraculously perfect! The VIARail train ride was very smooth and calm, like Lake Ontario.

Do you see the golf course?

From this Canadian train station at Cobourg, Canada, to Kaii's granddaughter's college, Colgate University, New York, one can take a bus and pay only $4.46 for the bus fare, but takes four hours and eight minutes.

Water towers are good signs for a community ahead

Along the VIARail train track, one can find big and beautiful buildings in Montreal, Canada.

It would be easy to find the black and blue building!

Before the train came to a full stop in Montreal, there is a Costco!

The pedestrian stairway is like an art sculpture

The first view of the city of Montreal was focused on a row of fire engines, five in total, but no smoke to be found anywhere!

This map shows that it only takes 18 minutes of walk between the Central train station and Hotel St. Sulpice in Own Town Montreal.

Once checked in the Hotel Saint Sulpice, 414 Rue de St. Sulpice, Kaii and Jim were told that they had the biggest suite in the hotel, including a roof top patio.

Walking along the little streets in Old Town Montreal, Kaii came upon a djambe store.

Settled in for a nice French Canadian dinner

When dinner was over, take a short cut through a historical park with buildings that were built in 1648. Good night!

A full day ahead, Kaii wanted to start with something sweet for breakfast. The bread poutine was delicious, sweet, and warm!

Jim had Latkes with eggs

Setting out for exploring Montreal, the first stop was the Notre Dame Cathedral. When Kaii was here to listen to her son's speech in an engineering symposium in 2012, this cathedral was free for everyone. It requires an entry ticket now. It was so busy, like the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France.

This pipe organ has more than 7,000 pipes.

Focused on art, indoor or outdoor, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) is number one in Canada.
